Last week’s election of Republican Scott Brown to represent Massachusetts in the U.S. Senate represented both a political and legislative “game change” on Capitol Hill. While the most obvious effect is the loss of a Democratic 60-vote supermajority, other ramifications have and will continue to emerge during the second session of the 111th Congress. In light of Brown’s upset victory and in advance of President Obama’s first official State of the Union address on Wednesday, Printing Industries of America presents an analysis regarding the political and industry issue impact of the “game change.”
