Feb 1, 2010 -- OREGON - New worker laws in effect
These senate bills include new child support and employer restrictions on meeting participation
Senate Bill 373 provides a civil right of action for both the obligor and obligee under a child support order when the employer or other person who withholds money fails to pay over that money to the obligee within the time required by law.
Senate Bill 519 prohibits employers from taking adverse employment action against employees who decline to attend meetings or participate in communications concerning the employer’s opinions about religious or political matters.
